In Ayurveda, your Prakriti is your natural body type, shaped by the three doshas - Vata, Pitta & Kapha. If you’re a Kapha type, your system is mainly influenced by the earth and water elements.
Kapha people are the most grounded, calm and stable of all body types. They usually have strong endurance, steady energy & a caring nature. But when Kapha goes out of balance, it can show up as weight gain, sluggishness, or emotional heaviness.

When Kapha builds up too much, it may lead to

  • Weight gain, fluid retention or heaviness in the body

  • Sluggish digestion, nausea or excess mucus

  • Respiratory issues like colds, sinus congestion or allergies

  • Feeling overly sleepy, unmotivated or depressed

  • Strong attachment to routines, people or comfort zones


Ayurveda Tips to Balance Kapha

  • Favor light, warm & spicy foods (ginger tea is great!)

  • Reduce heavy, oily, very sweet foods

  • Exercise daily, dynamic & energizing activities are best

  • Stay warm and avoid damp, cold environments

  • Keep your routine active and stimulating. try new things often

  • Practice energizing yoga and pranayama like Kapalabhati
