Pitta Prakriti

In Ayurveda, your Prakriti is your natural body type, shaped by the three doshas - Vata, Pitta & Kapha. If you’re a Pitta Prakriti, your system is mainly influenced by the fire and water elements.
Think of Pitta as Prakriti - sharp, focused, determined, full of drive. Pitta people often have strong digestion, a sharp mind and natural leadership qualities. But just like fire, when Pitta flares up too much, it can burn out quickly and show up as anger, acidity or skin issues.

How to Spot a Pitta Person

  • Medium, athletic build with good muscle tone

  • Warm body temperature: they dislike heat and sun

  • Sharp appetite and strong digestion (rarely skip meals)

  • Naturally glowing skin, often sensitive or prone to rashes

  • Bright eyes, sharp features and good hair (though may gray or thin early)

Pitta Mind & Personality

  • Intelligent, logical & quick decision-makers

  • Natural leaders with strong confidence

  • Goal-oriented and hard working

  • Can get impatient, controlling, or easily irritated if stressed

  • Passionate and competitive & they love challenges

Signs of Pitta Imbalance

When Pitta is high, you might notice:

  • Acid reflux, heart burn or excessive hunger

  • Skin issues like acne, rashes or inflammation

  • Irritability, anger, or short temper

  • Overheating, sweating, or intolerance to hot weather

  • Hair thinning or early graying

Ayurveda Tips to Balance Pitta

  • Keep work-life balance to avoid burnout

  • Eat cooling, fresh foods (fruits, leafy greens, cucumber, coconut water)

  • Stay cool - avoid too much sun exposure or overexertion

  • Favor sweet, bitter, and astringent tastes. Cut down on spicy, oily, fried foods

  • Practice calming yoga, meditation, and cooling pranayama (like Sheetali)
